Indian Cricket Team crushed New Zealand Cricket Team by seven wickets in the second T20I in Raipur on January 23 (Friday). The game started with Suryakumar Yadav winning the toss, and opting to field first.
Despite none of the New Zealand batters scoring half-centuries, the Black Caps piled up a big total of 208/6. Rachin Ravindra (44) and Mitchell Santner (47*) were the highest run-scorers for the Black Caps, while, for India, Kuldeep Yadav got two scalps.
India lost both openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma for single digits. However, Ishan Kishan hammered a brutal half-century to provide a wonderful start to batting, hitting 76 runs off 32 deliveries. Reaching his fifty off 21 deliveries, he also scripted the record for the fastest half-century against New Zealand by an Indian batter in T20Is.
After his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav took the responsibility, smacking an unbeaten 82 runs. He was well supported by Shivam Dube (36*) as India chased down the target in just 15.2 overs to gain a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Kishan was adjudged Player of the Match.
