IND vs NZ 2024: Most runs, most wickets after 3rd test, Mumbai

New Zealand won the third IND vs NZ test in Mumbai by 24 runs.
New Zealand created history after defeating India by 24 runs in the third test match of the three-match IND vs NZ series. Their victory in Mumbai, following the ones in Bengaluru and Pune, marks the first instance when a visiting team has whitewashed India in India in test series of three or more games.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, New Zealand put up a comprehensive batting performance on a spin-friendly Wankhede pitch to post first innings total of 235 runs. The Indian team replied by posting 263 runs in their first innings. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant starred for the Asian giants with scores of 90 and 60 respectively.
Facing a slender 28-run deficit, New Zealand batsmen fought their way to 174 through small but valuable middle-order contributions.
Chasing a 147-run target, the Indian team were outclassed by the spin duo of Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips. The spin twins combined to pick up nine wickets to dismantle the Indian batting lineup.
Pant fought for the Indian team once again with his fantastic knock of 64, before being given out controversially. A comprehensive performance by the visitors saw them create history by completing a 3-0 whitewash.
IND vs NZ test series 2024: Most Runs
Rishabh Pant finished as the top scorer of the series with 261 runs. Despite his failure in the third test, young Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is placed at number second with 256 runs. Following him on this list is New Zealand’s top-order batsman Will Young with 244 runs. Openers Devon Conway and Yashasvi Jaiswal complete the list with 227 and 190 runs respectively.

IND vs NZ test series 2024: Most Wickets
Despite missing the first test, Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar tops the wicket-takers leaderboard with 16 wickets. Following him on this list in the second position is Ravindra Jadeja with 16 wickets. Jadeja registered a 10-wicket hall in the third match of the series.
Another left-arm spinner, Ajaz Patel, follows Jadeja with 15 wickets. The New Zealand bowling duo of Mitchell Santner and Matt Henry close the list with 13 and 10 wickets respectively.
