India crushed New Zealand in the 5th IND vs NZ T20I to win the series 4-1.
The fifth T20I between the Indian Cricket Team and the New Zealand Cricket Team was a high-scoring encounter, where the Men-in-Blue had the last laugh. After Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat first, the home team piled up a gigantic total of 271/5.
While Abhishek Sharma (30) and Sanju Samson (6) could not go big with the bat, Ishan Kishan slammed a wonderful century. Smashing 103 runs off 43 balls, he registered his first ton in T20I cricket. Suryakumar Yadav (63) scored a half-century while Hardik Pandya (42) slammed a quickfire knock to finish the innings on a high.
In the chase, New Zealand lost opener Tim Seifert cheaply for five runs, but Finn Allen (80) scored a stunning half-century. Rachin Ravindra (30) and Daryl Mitchell (26) made some efforts, but the Black Caps were far from reaching the target.
In the end, they were bowled out for 225 runs and lost by a huge margin of 46 runs. With the victory in the final clash, the Suryakumar Yadav & Co. won the series by a 4-1 margin.
