The Men in Blue lead the three-match IND vs NZ series 1-0.

India and New Zealand are taking on each other in a three-match ODI series. The 2nd ODI of the campaign got underway at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 14, Wednesday, where Rohit Sharma grabbed a marvellous milestone in his kitty.

Unlike the previous game, Shubman Gill lost the toss this time, and the Black Caps captain Michael Bracewell opted to bowl first. At the toss, Gill informed that India made only one change to their playing XI. Nitish Kumar Reddy was added to the side following Washington Sundar’s ouster from the squad due to an injury.

Rohit and Gill opened the batting for India and gave a decent start. Sharma started well by hitting Kiwi bowlers all over the park.

He scored four boundaries before losing his wicket to Kristian Clarke in the 13th over, getting out for 24 runs off 38 deliveries. He looked in good form at the start but could not hold his ground for long, failing to reach his half-century once again.

This also includes three double centuries, with a highest score of 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in November 2014.

Speaking about the match, India crossed 80 runs in 15 overs after Sharma’s dismissal in the first innings. Gill followed up on his good form and scored another half-century in the series. He also scored a fifty in the first game. He got out for 56 runs once again.
