IND vs NZ will be the final of ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for T20 World Cup 2026 final. English pair Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf will be the on-field umpires for the clash, which will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8, between India and New Zealand.
Illingworth will be the on field umpire for the second straight 20 World Cup Final, having stood alongside Chris Gaffaney in 2024. He also was there ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Final and the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Final.
On the other hand, Alex Wharf will be overseeing his first senior ICC World Cup Final. He officiated in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 events before he joined the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Umpires last year.
Allahuddien Paleker will be the third umpire, while Adrian Holdstock will be fourth umpire. The two were there as on field umpire for semi-final 1 of T20 World Cup 2026 between South Africa and New Zealand at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 4. Andy Pycroft will be the match referee.

India will come into the game on the back of a brilliant 7-run win against England in the semi-final. They posted a mammoth total of 253 runs, but struggled to contain the opposition. However, Jasprit Bumrah oozed his class and helped his team win.
On the other hand, New Zealand registered a dominating 9-wicket win over South Africa in semi-final. This will be the second straight time the these two teams will be up against each other in final of ICC event.
