IND vs PAK: Top five best performers from U19 Asia Cup final

Sameer Minhas was the undisputed star behind Pakistan’s historic win in U19 Asia Cup 2025.

Pakistan stunned India in the Asia Cup U19 final, outbatting and outbowling their arch rivals. It was Sameer Minhas who set the tone with the bat, scoring a daddy hundred, ably supported by Ahmed Hussain, to help Pakistan score a massive 347.

India were still not out of it, as the track was conducive for stroke making and batting friendly. They smashed nearly 20 runs in the opening over, but Ayush Mhatre failed to get going, and was dismissed for just 2. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Aaron George provided quick starts, but none of them managed to go big.

Only cameos will never going to do the job for India, who were in the pursuit of a huge score. Ali Raza, Mohammad Sayyam, and Abdul Subhan broke through India’s batting lineup, picking up 2 wickets each out of their first six batters.

India, who have won the U19 Asia Cup 11 times, have now lost consecutive finals at the competition, previously failing against Bangladesh. It was now been three years, since India triumphed at the event, while Pakistan managed to win the tournament for only the second time.

Top 5 best performers from U19 Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan

5. Ahmed Hussain – 56 runs

Ahmed Hussain played a crucial supporting role in Pakistan’s imposing total in the U19 Asia Cup final, scoring a composed 56 to steady the innings alongside Sameer Minhas. Walking in after the early loss of Hamza Zahoor, the left-hander batted with maturity, rotating the strike effectively and punishing loose deliveries to maintain momentum.

His 137-run partnership with Minhas blunted India’s bowling attack and provided Pakistan with the platform to push beyond 340, before he was eventually dismissed attempting to accelerate.

4. Deepesh Devendran – 3 wickets & 36 runs (SR:225)

India’s poor day in the field had just one bright spot, which was Deepesh Devendran’s incredible all-round performance. Devendran ended Sameer Minhas’ hopes of a double century, and cleaned up Pakistani skipper Yousaf.

He then turned up with the bat, fighting alone while staring at the barrel. His quick-fire 36 off just 16 balls, helped India salvage some pride and reduce the margin of defeat.

3. Muhammad Sayyam – 2 wickets

Muhammad Sayyam ensured to carry the momentum which Raza had provided early on. He took out the dangerous looking Aaron George with a well directed short ball, and then dismissed Vedant Trivedi with an off-cutter. His economical spells including a maiden, and variations were instrumental to his success.

2. Ali Raza – 4 wickets

On a wicket which was batter friendly, Ali Raza began the collapse. Raza took out both explosive Indian openers, in the form of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He came back to pick up the wicket of Kanishk Couhan and Deepesh Devendran, eliminating any hopes for India to comeback into the contest.

1. Sameer Minhas – 172 runs

Sameer Minhas produced a sensational century in the U19 Asia Cup final, powering Pakistan to a commanding 347 for 8 against India U19. The opener smashed a breathtaking 172 off 113 balls, peppering the boundary with 17 fours and nine sixes, and relentlessly attacked India’s new-ball bowlers to seize control of the title clash. His dominant knock, built around key partnerships after an early setback, set Pakistan up strongly before he was eventually dismissed by Deepesh Devendran while chasing a double hundred.
