Day 2 of the second IND vs SA test will take place on Sunday, November 23.
The second test between Indian Cricket Team and South Africa Cricket Team commenced on Saturday, November 22, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Since Indian captain Shubman Gill was ruled out of the match due to a neck injury, vice-captain Rishabh Pant is captaining the hosts in the clash.
Pant scripted history by becoming the second wicket-keeper batsman after MS Dhoni to lead India in test cricket. Proteas captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bat first in the encounter, winning the toss for the second time in a row in the series.
South Africa openers Aiden Markram (38) and Ryan Rickelton (35) etched an opening stand of 82 runs to provide a decent start with the bat. Tristan Stubbs (49) and Bavuma (41) added crucial runs on the scoreboard. However, Indian bowlers kept chipping with wickets at regular intervals, with none of the Proteas batters managing to score a half-century.

At the stumps of Day 1, the Temba Bavuma & Co. reached 247/6, with spinner Kuldeep Yadav picking three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja captured one wicket each in their kitty.
Notably, India have made two changes to their playing XI for the encounter. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been picked as a replacement for Axar Patel. Since Gill was unavailable for the match, Sai Sudharsan was added into the side. South Africa went ahead with only one change, replacing Corbin Bosch with Senuran Muthusamy.
Interestingly, due to early sunrise and sunset in the region, the second India vs South Africa test is starting 30 minutes earlier than the first test at 9 AM IST.
