The second IND vs SA test took place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

The second test between Indian Cricket Team and South Africa Cricket Team concluded on Wednesday, November 26 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Temba Bavuma & Co. outplayed India by 408 runs in the clash, handing India their biggest defeat by runs in the longest format of the game.

Opting to bat first in the encounter, South Africa piled up a mammoth total of 489/10 in the first innings with a century by Senuran Muthusamy (109) and Marco Jansen (93). At the start, Aiden Markram (38), Ryan Rickelton (35), Tristan Stubbs (49), and Temba Bavuma (41) gave a decent start to the innings

At one stage, Proteas struggled at 246/6, but Indian bowlers failed to outplay the combination of Muthusamy and Jansen as the duo added a 97-run stand for the eighth wicket. Kuldeep Yadav’s four-wicket haul went in vain as they failed to restrict the visitors from going big.

Indian batters fell like a house of cards, getting bowled out for just 201 runs in the first innings. After starring with the bat, Jansen jolted the hosts with his six-wicket haul with the ball, earning a 288-run lead for his side.

Declaring their innings at 260/5 in the second innings, the Temba Bavuma & Co. set a huge target of 549 runs for India. However, they bowled out India for 140 runs, winning the game by a huge margin of 408 runs.

With the victory, South Africa whitewashed India in the two-match series, bagging a clean sweep in a test series in India for the second time in history. They had defeated India by 30 runs in the first test in Kolkata.

South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs finished as the leading run-scorer of the series with 163 runs, followed by Washington Sundar with 124 runs. Senuran Muthusamy and Marco Jansen are next on the list with 109 and 106 runs respectively. Ravindra Jadeja finished fifth with 105 runs.
