The third IND vs SA ODI took place at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa concluded on Saturday, 6th December with the hosts winning the game and sealing the series 2-1. Winning the toss after a long gap of two long years in ODI cricket, the KL Rahul-led side opted to field first at Visakhapatnam’s Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium.
The decision proved to be right as they dismissed the visitors for 270, who were once going strong with their opener Quinton de Kock scoring a hundred. Notably, it was de Kock’s seventh ODI century against India, equaling Sanath Jayasuriya’s record for most ODI hundreds against India. Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav were pick of the bowlers for India as they scalped four wickets each.
The chase was easy for India with Yashasvi Jaiswal hammering his maiden century in ODI cricket. His opening partner Rohit Sharma scored 75 and during his stay on the crease, completed 20,000 runs in international cricket. Following Rohit’s dismissal, Virat Kohli, who hit two centuries in the first two games, scored unbeaten 65 to guide India home by nine wickets and 61 balls to spare.
