A new-look Indian cricket team will take on neighbour Sri Lanka in the first match of the three-match T20I series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on July 27.

This upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka will also mark the first assignment of the newly appointed India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Hosts Sri Lanka have also made a few changes at the helm coming into this series. Star batter Charith Asalanka has been named the new T20I captain, while Sanath Jayasuriya is the interim head coach.

However, before the opening fixture, the hosts suffered two huge blows. Senior pacer Dushmantha Chameera was ruled out of the T20I series due to bronchitis and respiratory infection. After Chameera, pacer Nuwan Thushara was also ruled out of the series due to an injury to his left hand during the training session. Sri Lanka have named pacers Asitha Fernando and Dilshan Madushanka as the replacements.
