IND vs SL weather forecast for 1st T20I in Pallekele
The IND vs SL 1st T20I will be played at the Pallekele International Stadium on July 27.
Under the newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian cricket team will begin a new era in white-ball cricket when they face Sri Lanka in an away three-match T20I series starting on July 27 in Pallekele.
After lifting the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, veteran Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli retired from T20Is. Earlier this month, BCCI named star batter Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20I skipper and his first assignment will be the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
India are the number 1 ranked T20I team in the world and a new-look line-up will look to dominate Sri Lanka in the opening match of the series on Saturday at the Pallekele International Stadium.
Hosts Sri Lanka have also made a few changes at the helm coming into this series. Star batter Charith Asalanka has been named the new T20I captain, replacing Wanindu Hasaranga, and Sanath Jayasuriya is the interim head coach.
Ahead of the opening fixture, the hosts were dealt two huge blows. Pacers Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara have been ruled out of the three-match T20I series against India. Sri Lanka Cricket have announced speedsters Asitha Fernando and Dilshan Madushanka as replacements.

According to Accuweather.com, there is an 88% probability of precipitation in Pallekele on Saturday, July 27. A cloud cover with a couple of thunderstorms is forecasted. The chances of thunderstorms are 53%. According to the hourly forecast, during the match hours, the weather will remain cloudy.
