IND vs WI: 3 changes India could make for 3rd T20I against West Indies
The three-match IND vs WI T20I series is levelled at 1-1.
West Indies made a strong comeback in the five-match T20I series against India after a dominating performance in second T20I. They thumped India by six wickets at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday.
Put into bat, India had a great start as Abhishek Sharma (20) and Sanju Samson (82) added 42 runs in just four overs. After that Ishan Kishan (43) played a great hand at three, adding 97 runs for second wicket.
Samson slammed a brilliant half-century after few low scores and yet again silenced the critics. Captain Shreyas Iyer (40) and Tilak Varma (44*) then ensured that India finish the innings on high. Their 83-run stand powered India to the total of 249 for five.
West Indies didn’t have a great start to their chase as they lost Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer in the first over itself. Rovman Powell (24) had a great start but he too was dismissed inside powerplay as West Indies were left reeling at 58 for three.
However, with team under pressure, Shai Hope (102*) and Sherfane Rutherford (84) took the game away from India, adding 120 runs for fourth wicket. Hope registered a brilliant century, while Romario Shepherd (34*) played his part as West Indies chased the target with six wickets in hand. .

3. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma has been continously playing cricket for India in T20Is. The Men in Blue could consider resting him for third clash, and allow him some time to rejuvenate himself. With series at 1-1, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi might get a chance to play in the top order.
The young left-hander had a good IPL 2026 season and can add more aggression in the powerplay. His inclusion would give India another attacking option at the top.
2. Nitish Kumar Reddy for Axar Patel

Axar Patel played a pivotal role in India’s gold medal-winning campaign at the Asian Games 2026 and remains one of the country’s key spin-bowling all-rounders. He struggled in last game, and might get rested for third clash.
In his absence, Nitish Kumar Reddy could be given a chance. He did not have a great ODI series against West Indies and could use some game time in the T20I series.
India are also playing with two specialist fast bowlers, so Reddy could provide another pace-bowling option if needed.
1. Prince Yadav for Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav had an expensive first T20I, but he made a strong comeback in second clash, taking three wickets. Yadav has been injury prone, and India could rest him out for this game and give Prince Yadav a chance instead.
Prince can bowl with the new ball and at the death. With series at 1-1, the third T20I could be a good chance to see what he can offer.
When will the second IND vs WI T20I be played?
The IND vs WI 3rd T20I will be played on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Ranchi.
