India had a solid outing with the bat on the opening day of second IND vs WI test in Delhi.

The Indian Cricket Team had a solid day with the bat as they began the second test against the West Indies Cricket Team on a high. The match between the two teams kicked off on Friday (10th October) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

For the first time in his test captaincy career, Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bat. His decision turned out to be a great one as openers in Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul (38) batted brilliantly and added 58 runs for the opening partnership.

A lapse in concentration saw KL Rahul losing his wicket early, but Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan (87) took the game away from the West Indies. The duo added 193 runs for the second wicket, making bowlers look clueless. Jaiswal slammed his seventh century in the format, while Sudharsan missed out on his maiden ton.

After Sudharsan got out, it was Shubman Gill (20*), who joined Jaiswal. The day was all about the young opener as he batted throughout the day and slammed another 150+ score, ending the day at unbeaten 173 off 253 with 22 boundaries.

Gill and Jaiswal added an unbeaten 67 runs for the third wicket as India ended day one with 318/2. For the West Indies, Jomel Warrican was the pick of the bowlers as he picked both the Indian wickets that fell on day one.
