Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur, who were part of the England tour, were dropped and Sai Sudharsan, who made his test debut in the last series, has retained his place in the squad. Devdutt Padikkal has also returned to the test team after missing the last series due to injury.

The West Indies will be led by Roston Chase in the test series. The visitors have recalled Alick Athanaze and Tagenarine Chanderpaul for the series. Ahead of the campaign, the West Indies sustained a big blow as their two crucial pacers Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph were ruled out due to injuries.
The Caribbean side will also play their second series in ICC WTC 2025-27. They faced a 3-0 whitewash in their first test series of the ongoing WTC cycle against Australia in July.
