Shreyas Iyer led India to an 8-wicket win in the 1st IND vs WI T20I with a century.
Just like the ODI series, India begun the T20I series with a dominating chase. The Men in Blue recorded an 8-wicket win in the first T20I with 5.2 overs to spare while chasing 172 runs.
Shreyas Iyer slammed his maiden T20I ton and took India over the line. His century came off just 42 balls, which is now the joint-third fastest hundred by a captain for a full-member side.
Iyer remained unbeaten on 102 off 43 balls with 10 fours and six sixes. He added a 137-run unbeaten stand with Ishan Kishan (37* off 27) to seal the deal. With this win, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.
Earlier in the first innings, West Indies got all out for 171 runs in 19.1 overs. Captain Shai Hope carried his form and struck 52 off 37 balls. Sherfane Rutherford (56 off 34) also scored a half-century.
