They have recorded the second-highest ODI chase ever in history, where captain Shubman Gill recorded the fastest ODI double century. Just like the first ODI, the second match turned out to be another run feast on a road-like pitch.
West Indies produced a spectacular batting performance and posted a mammoth total of 405/7 in the first innings. John Campbell (101 off 68), Shai Hope (104 off 94), and Amir Jangoo (114 off 77) scored centuries for the visitors.
India needed a special performance to chase this record target. That is what happened with a record 255-run opening stand. Rohit Sharma brought up his 35 ODI ton and scored 101 off 75 balls with 10 fours and six sixes.
Captain Gill carried his red-hot form and scored consecutive century. He took it to another level and reached his second ODI double hundred off just 117 balls. Gill remained unbeaten at 223 off 133 balls with 26 fours and 8 sixes and took India to a record chase of 406/2 in just 43.3 overs.
