West Indies recorded their highest T20I chase in the second IND vs WI clash in Ranchi.
On October 9, West Indies recorded their highest successful T20I chase. Captain Shai Hope has been in red-hot form and has now hit three centuries and one fifty in the last four games.
He smashed a century off 45 balls in the second T20I and helped West Indies chase down a record target of 250. With this win, West Indies have also levelled the series against India.
India batted first and made 249/5, with Sanju Samson scoring 82 off 41 balls. Ishan Kishan (43 off 22), Shreyas Iyer (40 off 18), and Tilak Varma (44* off 18) played good cameos.
India started well; Mayank Yadav took two wickets in the second over. Rovman Powell scored 24 off 13 and got out when West Indies were 58 in 5.1 overs. Following this, Hope and Sherfane Rutherford shared a 120-run partnership in just nine overs.
Rutherford got out for 84 off 37 balls. But Romario Shepherd played a brilliant cameo (34* off 13), and Hope finished on 102* off 45 balls.
