Another match between India and the West Indies, and another high-scoring, thrilling contest. The fourth T20I between these two sides concluded at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium with a total of 470 runs. West Indies have beaten India to level the series at 2-2.
Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to field first. However, like the matches on this tour, the fourth T20I also produced a mammoth total. West Indies began their innings with a quick 52-run opening stand in just 4.2 overs.
Shai Hope and Jewel Andrew (21 off 16) gave the visitors a good start. After this, Hope and Shimron Hetmyer shared a 58-run partnership for the second wicket. The left-hander played a cameo of 33 off 12 balls.
For the third wicket, Hope and Rovman Powell (24 off 17) had a decent 46-run partnership. However, the fourth-wicket partnership took them close to 250. Hope and Sherfane Rutherford added 91 runs in 7.1 overs. Hope finished with his fourth century on this tour.
He made 102* off 50 balls. In the chase, India reached 50 in just five overs. Sanju Samson scored a 20-ball fifty and made 56 off 23 balls. But after his dismissal, no Indian batsman could play a pivotal role.
Tilak Varma (43 off 25) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (41 off 20) put on a 70-run stand in 5.2 overs. But India fell short by 24 runs.
