The day 3 of the second test between Indian Cricket Team and West Indies Cricket Team commenced on Sunday, October 12 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Surprisingly, Sai Sudharsan, who has been a key member of this young team, wasn’t spotted on the field.
Sai Sudharsan came up with a wonderful batting performance in the first innings, scoring 87 runs off 165 deliveries. He was en route to his maiden test century but his stay at the crease was cut short by spinner Jomel Warrican. With Yashasvi Jaiswal (175), he etched a 193-run stand for the second wicket, which set the platform for India’s mammoth total in the first innings.
On day 2, Sudharsan also stole the limelight with his brilliant effort in the field as he took a sensational catch at short leg to remove John Campbell. However, he suffered an injury scare after taking the catch and wasn’t allowed to take the field on day three. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed that Sudharsan sustained an impact injury while attempting the catch, hence, he did not arrive at the field on day 3 as a precautionary measure.
