IND vs ZIM: Jasprit Bumrah eyes THIS historic milestone against Zimbabwe in T20 World Cup 2026

Jasprit Bumrah clinched a three-wicket haul in the previous game against South Africa.

India are set to clash with Zimbabwe in a must-win game in the T20 World Cup 2026. The IND vs ZIM encounter will be played on February 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Jasprit Bumrah will lead India’s pace attack in the crucial clash against Zimbabwe. Despite the defeat against South Africa in the last game, Bumrah rocked the field with his incredible bowling show in the first innings.

The right-arm pacer clinched three wickets in the match, helping the team to restrict the Proteas under the 200-run mark. Leaking just 15 runs off his four overs, he was commendable with his economy rate.

Moreover, Bumrah has been brilliant in the tournament so far, clinching seven wickets across four matches at a wonderful average of 9.85 and economy of just 5.30. The Indian pacer has never conceded more than 20 runs in any game, which reveals his ability to restrict runs against opposition teams.

Jasprit Bumrah is three wickets shy of 500 international wickets

In the IND vs ZIM match, the senior Indian pacer needs just three more wickets to reach the mark of 500 international wickets. If he achieves the milestone, he will become the eighth Indian bowler to do so.

Anil Kumble, Ravi Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Kapil Dev, Ravindra Jadeja, Zaheer Khan, and Javagal Srinath are the seven Indian bowlers with more than 500 wickets in international cricket.

Bumrah currently has 497 wickets in 232 games across formats, which includes 18 five-wicket hauls. In the previous game, he became India’s highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history with 33 wickets, breaking Ravichandran Ashwin’s tally (32).
