Ex-Indian spinner named as India A head coach for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025

Jitesh Sharma will captain India A in Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a former Indian spinner as the head coach of India A team for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will be played from November 14 to 23 in Qatar. On Tuesday, November 4, the governing body revealed India A’s 15-member squad for the tournament, which will be led by wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma.
A total of seven teams will battle for the title in Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. India A are placed in Group B alongside Oman, UAE, and Pakistan A. Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, and Sri Lanka A are the other teams in the tournament, who are placed in Group A.
The Jitesh Sharma-led side will face UAE in their opening game of the tournament on Friday, November 14. Naman Dhir has been named as Sharma’s deputy, while Abishek Porel is another wicket-taker batter in the squad.
BCCI appoints Sunil Joshi as head coach of India A for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025

Former Indian left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi has been named as the head coach of India A by the BCCI for the tournament. Joshi recently joined BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) and was part of India A’s campaign against Australia A last month. He replaces fellow CoE coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar, as the latter is busy with the ongoing India A series against South Africa A and India U-19 duties.
Joshi, who represented India from 1996 to 2001, also served as Punjab Kings (PBKS) bowling coach in Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2023 to 2025, helping the side to reach the finals of IPL 2025. He stepped down from the role in 2025 due to personal reasons before joining CoE. He will be joined by Apurva Desai as batting coach and Pallav Vohra as fielding coach of India A for Rising Star Asia Cup 2025.
