Sanju Samson is part of India’s squad in the ongoing T20I series against England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India‘s squad for the forthcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe on Monday, July 6. Both teams are scheduled to clash in three T20Is later this month.

India’s tour of Zimbabwe comprises only a three-match T20I series. The opening game will take place on July 23 at Harare Sports Club in Harare. The next two games will take place at the same venue on July 25 and 26.

Notably, India are currently busy in a T20I series against England, which will witness the 5th and final clash on July 11. It will be followed by a three-match ODI series from July 14 to 19.

After the conclusion of the England tour, the Indian Team will travel to Zimbabwe for the T20I series. However, players part of only the England T20I series are expected to travel to Harare after July 11.

Notably, the BCCI has retained Shreyas Iyer as captain for the T20I series against Zimbabwe despite his early struggles. He was appointed as the new T20I captain last month but lost to Ireland 0-2 in his first assignment.

Moreover, the BCCI has dropped Sanju Samson from the T20I squad following his dismal form in recent times. Samson, who won Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup in March, has been overlooked for the series against Zimbabwe.

Samson got out for single digits in the first two games against England and two matches against Ireland.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma are two openers in the squad. Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Prabhsimran Singh, Rinku Singh, and Harsh Dubey have been added to the squad. They are absent from the ongoing T20I series against England.

Notably, Rinku has made a comeback to the T20I team after being dropped in the Ireland and England tours. He struggled with his performances in T20 World Cup 2026, which forced BCCI to drop him from the squad.

Interestingly, key bowlers like Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Ravi Bishnoi have been rested for the Zimbabwe T20Is, while Varun Chakravarthy will lead the spin attack. Below is India’s complete squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe.
