Team India have landed in Sri Lanka for a long-awaited Test series. And they are currently engaged with Sri Lanka Cricket XI in the ongoing three-day warmup game in Colombo.
The first Sri Lanka vs India Test is scheduled to kick off on August 15 in Galle. Meanwhile, the second test will be played at the historic Sinhalese Cricket Stadium, starting on August 23 (Sunday).
Team India suffered massive blows when Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy were ruled out due to injuries. It was followed by another big scare as ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah joined the duo and was ruled out of the upcoming campaign.
Captain Shubman Gill was also hit on his finger and is not taking part in the ongoing warm-up game in Colombo. And now, another name has joined the injury list.
Sai Sudharsan ruled out of SL vs IND Test series

And now, Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the SL vs IND test series. The 24-year-old suffered an injury ahead of the tour and has been officially out of the series.
Notably, Sudharsan was nursing a toe injury and was in his rehab at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. He was added to the squad in hopes of getting fit in the time frame. However, the latest updates confirm that he won’t be featuring in the upcoming series.
It is a big blow to visitors. Sudharsan started to show his worth at No. 3 for Team India. He scored a valuable 81 in the last test against Afghanistan in Mullanpur. Sudharsan was also part of the two unofficial tests against Sri Lanka A.
He scored 132 & 7* and 165 & 25* in two matches. With 332 runs at an average 116, he was the top scorer in the series. His ability to play late against spinners would have been important for India.
Now, the Shubman Gill-led side have to find a reliable option at no. 3. Devdutt Padikkal is the front-runner to replace him, having scored 103 off 121 balls against SLC XI in the ongoing warmup game.
When will the SL vs IND test series begin?
The Test series will begin on August 15 (Saturday) in Galle.
