The BCCI shared the video of the Indian Cricket Team’s celebration in Birmingham.
Indian Cricket Team are currently in Birmingham to prepare for their upcoming second test of the ongoing five-match series against England Cricket Team. The second test will commence from July 2, and the players are putting in the hard yards at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium.
On the first anniversary of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 victory, which came on 29th June 2025, Indian players celebrated the triumph with a cake-cutting ceremony in Birmingham. Last year, the Rohit Sharma-led India crushed South Africa in the final of tournament at Kensington Oval, Barbados. With the victory, the Men in Blue ended their 11-year-long wait for an ICC title.
In the close-fought final, India piled up 176/7 in the first innings after a shaky start. Virat Kohli (76) and Axar Patel (47) played a crucial role in driving the team to a decent total. Later, they restricted South Africa to 169/8, winning the encounter by just seven runs.

Amid their busy training schedule in Birmingham, Indian players took some time off to celebrate their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video of celebrations on their official account on X (formerly Twitter). Have a look at the video below.
In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final, Hardik Pandya defended 16 runs in the final over to propel India to victory. Virat Kohli won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock. Jasprit Bumrah, who clinched 15 wickets across eight matches, won the Player of the Tournament award.
Meanwhile, the Shubman Gill & Co. are eyeing a comeback in the second test at Edgbaston. They trail 1-0 in the five-match series after losing the opening game by five wickets in Leeds. The hosts chased down a mammoth total of 371 runs in the opening clash, where Indian bowlers failed to deliver a powerful performance.
