Bangladesh are scheduled to host India for three ODIs and three T20Is in August 2025.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaiting clearance from the Government of India for Indian Cricket Team’s forthcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh in August 2025. India are scheduled to visit Bangladesh for white-ball series.
During India’s tour of Bangladesh 2025, both teams will play three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is. According to the original schedule, the tour will begin with the first ODI game on August 17 at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The second ODI will be played on August 20 at the same venue.
The final ODI will take place on August 23 at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Chattogram. The T20I series will begin on August 26 with the first game in Chattogram, while the next two games will be played on August 29 and 31 respectively in Dhaka.
BCCI is waiting for Indian Government’s clearance for the Bangladesh tour
President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Aminul Islam, informed the media that the BCCI is waiting for clearance from Indian Government for the Bangladesh white-ball tour. Notably, it is due to current political tensions between the two countries.
“We’re having positive discussions with the BCCI. It’s not like (hosting India) in August or September, we are having discussions how we can do the series and if we cannot host it now we will do it at another possible time. They (BCCI) are waiting for some government clearance,” the BCB President was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Notably, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their retirement from tests in May, are expected to be part of the Bangladesh tour. Both the batting legends have quit tests and T20Is and will only play in ODIs. Sharma is also the captain of India in ODIs.
Meanwhile, Indian Cricket Team are currently busy in the away test series against England. Led by Shubman Gill, India lost the first test by five wickets. The second test will commence on July 2 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India’s tour of England 2025 will conclude with the fifth test at The Oval, London.
