Jaydev Unadkat injured his shoulder and was administered ice pack immediately and a statement from LSG is awaited.

Jaydev Unadkat, India, and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have put both his teams in concern after he injured his left shoulder in the nets before LSG’s IPL 2023 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on May 1, 2023.

Unadkat is part of the Indian squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final which will be played against Australia at the Oval in England from June 7-11.

The Lucknow Super Giants' Jaydev Unadkat suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday, and the IPL announcers broke the news by showing a video of LSG's practice. The video demonstrated how Unadkat injured his shoulder while practicing at the nets after tripping during his follow-through and landing forcefully on his bowling arm.

Although LSG has not yet released an official statement providing an update on the injury and its severity, Unadkat was given immediate aid with an ice pack by the team physio.

Indian team in trouble ahead of WTC 2023 final as fast bowlers getting hurt

India are already heading into the big final against Australia at The Oval without the services of Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah. And Unadkat’s injury has already added to the concerns of the Indian team.

If the Saurashtra captain is ruled out of the WTC final, it will surely hurt India's plan given that another fast bowler Umesh Yadav also has an injury concern. He had missed Kolkata Knight Riders' last game owing to a niggle. This leaves only Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj as the fast bowlers in the squad.

However, as per reports, India has two pacers in the five players that have been named as standbys- Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini.

India squad for ICC WTC final vs Australia:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, K L Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.
