India will play their first game of Asia Cup 2025 on 10th September.

In what has been the latest development, as per the reports, in India Today, it is learned that the Indian Cricket Team will be heading into the Asia Cup 2025 without a lead sponsor. The tournament will begin on 9th September with the final set to be played on 28th September.

According yo reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held the Apex Council meeting on Thursday, August 28, chaired by Rajeev Shukla as interim president. During the meeting, some of the key issues were discussed, with the primary one being the sponsor of the team.

The officials discussed finding a new sponsor. While the BCCI is hopeful of finding a new sponsor, since there is not enough time to advertise and complete the process, it is going to be tough for them to find one just before the Asia Cup, which is less than two weeks away.

Dream11 and My11Circle together contribute approximately Rs 1,000 crore to the BCCI – Reports

Dream 11 was the principal sponsor of the Indian team but they recently pulled out of their deal. This is because after bill related to banning the fantasy sports platforms was passed in Parliament. With them pulling out, the BCCI as well as the players faced a massive loss.

As per the various reports, Dream11 and My11Circle together contribute approximately Rs 1,000 crore to the BCCI through title sponsorships of the Indian cricket team and the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former signed a deal worth USD 44 million (Rs 358 crore) for the 2023-2026 cycle with the Indian team.

Some reports also claimed that Toyota has expressed its desire to become the lead sponsor of the team. Although there’s no official confirmation about the same, several rumours have been suggesting the same.

Coming to Asia Cup 2025, India will open their campaign in the tournament on 10th September against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the defending champions in the tournament and they would be keen to win their second consecutive title.
