India Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Fixtures, Dates, Venues

India will kick-off their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on 5th June, 2024.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the schedule for the Men’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024, placing India, the inaugural champions, in Group A alongside Pakistan, Ireland, the hosts USA, and Canada. The T20 World Cup 2024 adopts a new format, accommodating 20 teams for the first time, divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, followed by a split into two groups of four. The top two teams from these groups will progress to the semi-finals, leading to the ultimate showdown on June 29th.

After a heartbreaking loss in the final of the 50-over World Cup last year, India aim not only to secure their first ICC title in 11 years, but also to claim their second T20 World Cup in history. India’s sole triumph in this competition occurred 17 years ago during the inaugural edition in 2007. Subsequently, India faced Super 8 stage exits in 2009, 2010, and 2012, along with a final loss in 2014. They experienced a Super 12 exit in 2021 and semifinal defeats in 2016 and 2022. India’s last ICC victory took place in 2013 when they won the Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Big match against Pakistan on 9th June

India, set to play all their group matches in the USA, will commence their campaign against Ireland on June 5th in New York. However, the most anticipated clash is between India and Pakistan, scheduled for June 9th at Eisenhower Park in New York. This high-stakes encounter promises to be a thrilling second group stage match.

India’s group stage journey will unfold across various venues in the USA, featuring clashes with the USA on June 12th in New York and Canada on June 15th in Florida. Subsequently, the Super 8 matches will transition to venues in the West Indies. If India manage to stay in the top two of the points table in Group A, they will qualify for the Super 8 round.
