India's tour of Australia 2025
IND vs AUS: India score 399 in 2nd ODI, register their highest ODI total against Australia

India set a massive target of 400 in 2nd ODI against Australia.
Australians had a tough day on the field, bowling to Indian batters at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Team India have scored 399 runs and Australia has 400 runs to chase. Australia desperately needs to win the second ODI to remain in the hunt. In a 3-match ODI series, India defeated Australia in the first ODI at PCA Stadium in Mohali and took a 1-0 lead in the series. In Indore, team India had a record-breaking day with the bat.
India have scored their highest-ever ODI total against Australia after scoring 399 runs at Holkar Stadium in Indore. They have overtaken their previous best of 383 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Rohit Sharma smashed his first-ever double-century in this game and took India to a record-breaking total. Before that, in the same series, team India had chased down 360 runs in Jaipur. They chased down a huge total of 360 in 44 overs.
India's highest ever total came in Indore
India’s highest-ever ODI total came at the Holkar Stadium when they scored 418 runs against West Indies in 2011. Virender Sehwag became the second batter to score a double century in this format after Sachin Tendulkar. Team India have scored six four hundred plus scores in the ODI format so far. Cameron Green bowled a great 49th over and conceded only 5 runs, otherwise, India would have added one more to that list.
Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill had a wonderful time with the bat, as they both added 200 for the second wicket. This partnership provided the much-needed foundation for team India. Shreyas Iyer smashed his third ODI century and scored 105 runs in 90 balls. Shubman Gill also kept his consistency intact as he went on to score his sixth ODI century and his fifth in 2023. Gill scored 104 runs on 97 balls. This sets the tone for the middle-order.
After a marathon stand between Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, Indian captains KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav kept the assault going. Rahul scored a half-century before he moved out. Surykumar Yadav had a memorable day as he smashed four consecutive sixes of Cameron Green's over. Surya smashed 72 runs in 37 balls with six fours and six sixes. Cameron Green conceded 103 runs in his 10 overs. The rain has once again stopped the proceedings, this break will be a bigger one due to heavy showers in Indore.
