BREAKING NEWS: India set to tour THIS country for two T20Is after IPL 2026 - Reports

The Indian Cricket Team recently won the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

The Indian Cricket Team has most of their schedule post the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) tournament finalized. India will be facing Afghanistan at home right after the IPL 2026 ends, before going to England for a white-ball series in July and then visiting Sri Lanka for a full tour in August.

And now it has been reported that India have been approached by another board for a short tour to their country as well, before or during their visit to England. India are set to play three ODIs and five T20Is on their tour of England.

Before that, India will face Afghanistan in a one-off Test at home, followed by three ODI matches, as the focus shifts to the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup, which will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. India will also have an eye on the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27, though they have lost a home series to South Africa.

India and Ireland to play two T20Is in late June

As per reports from Cricbuzz, in late June, the India are expected to play two white-ball games in Ireland. The report suggested that the matches might be in T20I format, even though the authorities have not yet disclosed the format of the games. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Ireland (CI) are anticipated to make an official joint statement shortly.

The two games will take place between the away white-ball series in England and the mixed home series against Afghanistan. The games are anticipated to take place during the fourth week of June, while the precise dates will be determined following the formal announcement.

According to Cricbuzz, during the recent BCCI awards ceremony in New Delhi, players, coaches, and other support personnel were made aware of the brief stay in Dublin. It will be Suryakumar Yadav’s team’s first international assignment after becoming the T20 World Cup 2026 champions.

India will face Afghanistan till June 20, when the final of the four home games will take place, as the BCCI has announced. On July 1, they will play their opening match against England. This means the Ireland series will be sandwiched between these two series.

When India have been in Ireland in recent years (2018, 2022, and 2023), they have often played three games, but it has been difficult to find a window. For the past few months, the series has been under development.
