Bhuvneshwar Kumar to lead as India announce star-studded squad for Hong Kong sixes

India are placed with Pakistan and UAE in Pool C in Hong Kong Sixes.
India have announced a strong seven-man squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2026, with experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar named captain. The tournament will be played from October 30 to November 1.
The squad features several players with IPL and international experience. Krunal Pandya, Shashank Singh, Rahul Tewatia, Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi are among the notable names in the team.
India will be hoping for a better campaign this year after struggling in the previous two editions since the tournament returned in 2024. They have lost nine of their 10 matches across those two editions.
India have been drawn in Pool C alongside Pakistan and the UAE. The 12 participating teams have been split into four groups of three.
Australia, England and Hong Kong China form Pool A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Scotland are in Pool B. South Africa, Afghanistan and Oman are in Pool D.
Pakistan are the defending champions and will be aiming for their seventh Hong Kong Sixes title.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will captain India in the 2026 Hong Kong Sixes. The 36-year-old pacer has played 229 international matches, including 21 Tests, 121 ODIs and 87 T20Is.

The Hong Kong Sixes has a unique format, with six players representing each team. Each side bowls six overs, with bowlers generally allowed to deliver one over each.
One designated bowler, apart from the wicketkeeper, can bowl two overs.
The group winners will advance to the Cup semi-finals. Teams finishing second will enter the Plate semi-finals, while third-placed teams will compete in the Bowl competition.
