India will start their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against Bangladesh on February 20.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday, 18th January, announced India’s 15-member squad for the home ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19.

India have been strengthened by the return of star fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who last played an ODI in November 2023 during the ICC Cricket World Cup final.

Jasprit Bumrah has also been included in the squad after a back injury sustained during the Sydney test in the BGT 2024-25. He is expected to be fit after the first two games of the Champions Trophy, hence Harshit Rana has been added to the squad for the England series.

Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has made the cut over Mohammed Siraj in the squad to join Bumrah and Shami in the fast bowling lineup.

Rohit Sharma will captain the team, while Shubman Gill has been named his deputy. Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned his maiden ODI call-up and included as back-up opener for the home ODI series against England as well as the ICC event.

Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul have been selected as wicket-keeping options, while Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are the all-rounders included.

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have retained their spots in the Indian middle order from the 50-over World Cup 2023 squad. Kuldeep Yadav has also marked his return after undergoing Hernia surgery in December.

Sanju Samson, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj and Varun Chakravarthy are among the major names who have missed out despite performing well in recent months.
