India will kickoff their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on 8th October in Chennai.

Cricket fans worldwide are eagerly counting down the days to the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and there's no doubt that India, who are hosting the mega event, are asked to make a significant impact on the tournament. India are currently playing Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka, which serves as a vital preparation for the World Cup.

India's Asia Cup 2023 started with a highly anticipated clash against their arch-rivals, Pakistan. Unfortunately, rain played spoilsport, resulting in a washout and both teams securing a point each. The subsequent league match against Nepal, laying the foundation for their World Cup campaign.

On the 21st of August, India announced their 17-members squad for Asia Cup, knowing that 15 of these players would eventually make the cut for the World Cup. With just two changes from Asia Cup squad, where Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna are out of the squad, India's final World Cup lineup is shaping up to be a formidable force.

India's squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 announced:

World Cup squad boasts a mix of seasoned veterans and young talents. Rohit Sharma, the team's captain, will lead from the front with his exceptional leadership skills and batting expertise. The top order features the likes of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, who bring a combination of elegance and ability to score runs consistently.

Shreyas Iyer, known for his middle-order stability and aggressive stroke play, is expected to play a pivotal role in crucial situations. KL Rahul, a versatile batsman and India's first-choice wicket-keeper, provides balance for the squad.

Ishan Kishan, will be serving as the backup wicket-keeper, and as well as a back-up opener he played an exceptional knock of 82 to get the team out of crisis.

The squad's all-rounders consists of Hardik Pandya, the vice captain, known for his dynamic abilities with both bat and ball. Ravindra Jadeja, often referred to as the 'Rockstar' of Indian cricket, is a genuine all-rounder who strengthens both the batting and bowling departments.

The spin department features Kuldeep Yadav, a spinner with excellent control and variation. Indian team will also have another left-arm bowling all-rounder option with them, Axar Patel has done well in the Indian pitches and is expected to do the same. Shardul Thakur, a pace-bowling all-rounder, provides the team with versatility and the ability to pick crucial wickets.

Leading the pace attack is Jasprit Bumrah, renowned for his accuracy and express pace. Mohammed Shami, an experienced campaigner, brings reverse swing expertise to the table, while Mohammed Siraj's fiery pace adds a new dimension to the fast-bowling arsenal.
