India's squad for Test & ODI series against Afghanistan to be announced on THIS date: Reports

India will clash with Afghanistan in one test and three ODIs in June.
After the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026, the Indian Men’s Cricket Team will face Afghanistan in a one-off Test and ODI series next month.
India and Afghanistan will lock horns in a one-off test match from June 6 to 10. The encounter will be played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Later, both sides will clash in three ODIs, with the opening game taking place on June 14 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The next two games will be played on June 17 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and on June 20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
India squad to be announced on May 19- Reports

According to a Times of India report, the Indian selectors will finalise the India ODI and Test squads against Afghanistan on May 19.
Shubman Gill will be leading the team in the test and ODI series. Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be rested for the campaign. Some fresh faces are likely to be part of the test squad. The batting unit is expected to witness fewer changes.
In the ODI squad, selectors might pick Ishan Kishan as the secondary wicket-keeper over Rishabh Pant. Kishan’s name has been discussed in the recent meetings following his brilliant form in recent campaigns. KL Rahul remains the first-choice wicket-keeper in ODIs at the moment.
Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are two crucial all-rounders in the fray. However, selectors can also provide a chance to a new player.
Meanwhile, the India vs Afghanistan ODI series will also mark the return of batting legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They last played for India in the ODI series against New Zealand in January.
