Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav undergoes a successful surgery in Germany

Suryakumar Yadav suffered an injury during India’s tour of South Africa 2023-2024.
Indian middle order batter Suryakumar Yadav suffered an ankle injury during India’s tour of South Africa last month. Suryakumar Yadav got injured during the final T20I game against South Africa at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and couldn’t take the field. Surya was declared to be out of action for six to eight weeks due to injury. Suryakumar missed the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
India’s top T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav underwent a groin surgery in Munich, Germany. Surya had sports hernia that got worsened by the time and Surya had to undergo surgery twice in the recent month. First one was after South Africa series when he suffered an ankle injury. Surya will be began his rehabilitation in mid-February at NCA.
Suryakumar Yadav’s update on Injury
India’s key middle-order batter Suryakumar posted a picture of himself on hospital bed after the surgery and wrote, “Surgery done, I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon.” Surya was in Bengaluru before heading to Munich for surgery, he was in rehabilitation at NCA.
Likely, Suryakumar will be making his comeback in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Team India will not be playing any limited overs fixture before IPL. Indian Premier League will be an ideal platform for Surya to make his comeback in Indian T20I team before the T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA. Surya will play a crucial role for India in the upcoming mega T20 event.
Suryakumar Yadav led Indian side in T20Is against Australia in the five-match T20I series played in India. He also led Indian side in the three-match T20I series against South Africa. All-rounder Hardik Pandya is also likely to make his comeback in Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. Pandya got injured during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
