India will tour England for a five-match test series starting June 20.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday, May 24, announced India’s squad for the forthcoming test series against England. The BCCI also named new captain and vice-captain for Indian Cricket Team in the longest format. Shubman Gill has been picked as new test skipper, while Rishabh Pant has been named as the vice-captain.

Senior members Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack. Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep Singh are part of the pace department for the England series. Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar will handle the responsibility of the spin-bowling department. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who did well in the Australian tour, has also been picked for the England tour.

In the batting department, experienced members like Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were picked in the squad. However, Shreyas Iyer did not make it to the squad. Karun Nair returned to the test setup after seven years, while Sai Sudharsan earned his maiden test call-up. Abhimanyu Easwaran has been selected as the back-up opener in the squad, while Dhruv Jurel has been picked as the back-up wicket-keeper.

1st test: June 20-24, Headingley, Leeds

2nd test: July 02-06, Edgbaston, Birmingham

3rd test: July 10-14, Lord’s, London

4th test: July 23-27, Old Trafford, Manchester

5th test: July 31-Aug 04, Kennington Oval, London
