No Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as India U19 squad for Australia series announced; Aaryavir Sehwag named

India’s junior cricket setup is set for another important assignment as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India U19 squads for the upcoming Australia U19 tour of India. The series will provide several opportunities to youngsters who are aiming to gain experience against a stronger Australian side.
India will play three One-Day matches and two multi-day fixtures against Australia U19. The three ODIs will be held in Rajkot, while the final multi-day fixture will take place in Ahmedabad. The first scheduled match is on September 18, followed by games on September 21 and 23.

One of the most notable names in the Indian Under-19 One-Day squad is Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. He has been named in India’s 15-member squad led by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan named vice-captain.
However, what remains the highlight of the squad is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as he does not feature in either of the squads announced for the upcoming series. The One-Day squad also includes wicketkeepers Rajat Baghel and Anvay Dravid, along with V.K. Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan and several other promising youngsters.
Aaryavir’s inclusion adds a interesting chapter for the Sehwag family, as he has been included for the three one-day matches and would get the oppurtunity to break into the Indian Men’s senior international team. His selection will naturally attract attention because of his father’s glorious impact for India.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s ommission should not be treated as a setback, particularly given his extensive involvement with India’s junior and development teams. He has been part of India A’s teams across all three formats and has also made his debut as the youngest ever cricketer for India.
