[Watch] India unveil new jersey for ICC T20 World Cup 2024

India will play their first ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match on June 5 in New York.

The Indian Cricket Team has finally unveiled their official jersey for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee tournament will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA in the month of June.

The much-awaited reveal of the Indian team jersey came after a few speculations and a possible jersey leak across social media handles. The official kit is designed by Adidas. It is to be noted that Adidas is BCCI’s official kit sponsor and the brand has been making jerseys for Indian Cricket Team since the last year.

In the latest Instagram video by Adidas, three players – Rohit Sharma, leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were seen unveiling the latest jersey for the shortest format. The new T20I jersey has tri-color stripes on a V-shaped neck, and the traditional Adidas stripes on saffron sleeves.

The BCCI announced the 15-man squad for the global event on April 30. However, the selection panel made some bold moves while selecting players.

In-form batter Rinku Singh was excluded from the main squad and has been added as a reserve player. The selectors even ignored the likes of Shubman Gill and Ravi Bishnoi.

However, the management picked wicket-keeper batter Sanju Sakmson, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, and all-rounder Shivam Dube in the squad for the upcoming ICC event. All three players are performing brilliantly in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for their respective franchises.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the side, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya will serve as his deputy in the marquee tournament.
