India's tour of Sri Lanka 2024: Schedule, dates, venues & timings announced by SLC

India will reach Sri Lanka on July 22 before the T20I series gets underway on July 26.

On July 11, 2024, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the full schedule of the upcoming home white-ball fixtures against the Indian cricket team. The white-ball tour will start on July 26 and will be played till August 7.

India’s first assignment since becoming the ICC T20 World Cup champions has already begun, with young Men in Blue players taking part in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, with VVS Laxman being appointed as the interim head coach by the BCCI.

India’s next assignment is against Sri Lanka and it will be under their new head coach Gautam Gambhir, who recently replaced legendary Rahul Dravid, whose tenure ended on June 29.

The Men in Blue will be visiting Sri Lanka for the first time since 2021. On the previous tour, the Indian side played four T20Is and three ODIs. India won the T20I series 3-1 before losing the ODIs 2-0.

Both nations haven’t faced each other in any format since the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match in Mumbai. Sri Lanka suffered a crushing 302-run defeat against the hosts in that match.

Sri Lanka are all set to host current T20 world champions India for three ODIs and as many T20Is. According to the SLC, the Men in Blue will arrive in the island nation on July 22, while the T20I series will get underway on July 26.

The second T20I of the three-match series will be played on July 27, followed by the last game of the series on July 29. It is to be noted that the three-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and India will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

After the end of the T20I series, the two Asian sides will face each other in a three-match ODI series starting on August 1. The second and third ODIs will be played on August 4 and August 7.

It is to be noted that the three-match ODI series between the two sides will be hosted at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

July 26: First T20I, 7:00 PM IST

July 27: Second T20I, 7:00 PM IST

July 29: Third T20I, 7:00 PM IST

Three-match ODI series:

August 1: First ODI, 2:30 PM IST

August 4: Second ODI, 2:30 PM IST

August 7: Third ODI, 2:30 PM IST
