Chennai to host one-off test as BCCI announces schedule for India women's multi-format series against South Africa women

India women’s multi-format series against South Africa women will be played in June-July 2024.

The Indian women’s team is set to host South Africa women’s team for a full-fledged multi-format series later this year. The multi-format series will start on June 16 and end on July 9. Last year, the Women in Blue hosted Australia and England for one-off test matches in December 2023. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side won both games.

It is to be noted that the white-ball series between India and South Africa was supposed to be played in 2023, but had to be postponed due to the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

However, the women’s Future Tour Program (FTP) didn’t have a one-off test between the two sides, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have agreed to add one-off test between the two nations. The decision was mainly taken to promote women’s test cricket.
