IND vs WI: India script world record after crushing West Indies in Delhi, become first team in 147 years to this feat

India defeated West Indies by seven wickets in the second test to register a 2-0 clean sweep in the series.
Indian Cricket Team defeated the West Indies Cricket Team in second of the two-match test series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (October 14) by seven wickets. With the victory, they whitewashed the Roston Chase-led side by a margin of 2-0 in the two-match series. Following the win, the Shubman Gill-led side has scripted a massive world record.
After opting to bat first in the Delhi test, India posted a mammoth total of 518/5d in the first innings with centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill. Later, they bowled out West Indies for 248/10 and earned a lead of 270 runs.
After being enforced follow-on, the West Indies came up with better effort with the bat and piled up 390 runs on the board, thanks to centuries by John Campbell and Shai Hope. They set a 121-run target for India but it was not enough as an unbeaten fifty by KL Rahul (58*) took India home in the first session of day five.
India register 10 consecutive test series victories against a team without losing a single test

After their 2-0 test series victory against that West Indies, India have created history by becoming the first team to register most consecutive test series victories against a team without losing a single game. India have defeated West Indies in 10 test series in a row from 2002 to 2025.
Notably, South Africa have also crushed the West Indies in 10 consecutive test series in international cricket since 1998, however, they lost two test matches. The next team on the list is Australia with nine consecutive test series victories against the West Indies.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged Player of the Series for his all-round effort in the series, while Kuldeep Yadav won Player of the Match in the Delhi test for his eight wickets in the clash. After the victory, the Shubman Gill & Co. hold the third spot in ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table with a win percentage (PCT) of 61.90. Out of seven games, they have won four games and lost two matches, while one match ended in a draw.
