India and Ireland are set to clash in two T20I matches.
Indian Cricket Team are all set to take on Ireland in a T20I series. The India tour of Ireland 2026 will see two teams locking horns with each other in two T20Is, scheduled to be played in the last week of June.
The IRE vs IND 1st T20I will take place on July 26 at Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast. The second encounter will be played at the same stadium on Sunday, June 28.
The Ireland vs India T20I series will mark a new chapter for the Men in Blue. Shreyas Iyer will commence his stint as T20I captain, replacing Suryakumar Yadav. Moreover, a few uncapped players are also part of the campaign including young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is expected to make his international debut.
India have a 100 percent win record against Ireland in T20Is, crushing them in all eight games in the past. They would be keen to maintain their winning streak, while Ireland aim for their first-ever win against the former.
With 201 runs in four games, Rohit Sharma owns the record for most runs against Ireland in T20Is. He has scored three half-centuries against Ireland but never hit a ton.
Interestingly, only one Indian batsman has hit a century against Ireland and his name will be quite surprising to many as he has vanished from the T20I team currently.
Deepak Hooda is the only Indian batter to score a T20I century against Ireland
The only Indian batsman to score a ton against Ireland is Deepak Hooda. In the 2022 tour, Hooda hammered 104 runs off 57 balls against Ireland. The encounter took place on June 28, 2022, at The Village in Mahahide.
The right-handed batsman scripted record by becoming the first batter to smack a ton against the Irish side. Reaching his century in just 55 deliveries, he became just the fourth Indian cricketer after Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to score a T20I hundred.
