Only two Indian batsmen have hit more than 90 sixes in test cricket.

From Kapil Dev to Rohit Sharma, several Indian cricketers have done exceptionally well in terms of stroke play in Test cricket. 5. MS Dhoni – 78 sixes

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is the fifth leading six-hitter for India in tests. MS Dhoni started his career with a bang and batted with aggressive intent, but soon maturity hit with the responsibility of captaincy.

Dhoni finished his 90-match test career with 78 sixes. He scored 4876 runs at a magnificent average of 38.09, batting mostly at number 7.

4. Ravindra Jadeja – 80 sixes

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is the fourth leading six-hitter in test cricket for India. Ravindra Jadeja made his test debut in December 2012 against England. He began his career as a bowling all-rounder, but slowly transitioned into a batting all-rounder.

Jadeja has so far played 88 Test matches for India. With the ball, he has scalped over 300 wickets, while with the bat, he has scored over 4000 runs and hit 80* sixes.

3. Rohit Sharma – 88 sixes

Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma is also in the tally with 88 sixes in test cricket. Rohit Sharma’s test career turned around after he was promoted to open in 2019. Rohit played 67 tests for India from 2013 to 2024. He scored 4301 runs at an average of 40.57. He hit 12 hundreds and 18 fifties in his career.

2. Virender Sehwag – 91 sixes

Former Indian opening batter Virender Sehwag was known for providing fiery starts to the Indian team. Sehwag’s fabulous strokeplay without much footwork kept him at No. 1 position in terms of hitting most sixes for India in tests until Pant broke it.

Sehwag played 104 test matches for India and has smashed 91 sixes; he scored 8586 runs in his 12-year career from 2001 to 2013.

1. Rishabh Pant – 97 sixes

First on the list is Indian wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant. He has sealed a permanent spot in India’s test side since his debut and has hit 97 sixes in just 50* tests for India.

Pant is one of the rare batsmen who is known for his aggressive approach in the longest format. By the end of his career, he could easily become the batter with most sixes in test cricket.
