Team India have produced many batting superstars in the game of cricket. Over the years, many Indian stars have made their debuts, but only 17 of those have scored a half-century on debut. 5. Manish Pandey :
Manish Pandey is one of the most talented Indian batters going around. He made his debut for India in 2015. Manish played his first ODI match against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2015. He batted at No. 5 and scored 71 runs off 86 balls with four boundaries and one six. India won that game by 83 runs.
4. Navjot Singh Sidhu :
Former Indian opener Navjot Singh Sidhu was known for his aggressive attitude. He loved to hit sixes, which made him a fierce opener. He played 136 ODIs and scored 4413 runs with 6 tons and 33 half-centuries. Sidhu made his ODI debut against Australia in the Cricket World Cup 1987 match in Chennai and made 73 off 79 balls, including four fours and five sixes.
3. Brijesh Patel
Former middle-order batter Brijesh Patel played only 10 ODIs and scored 243 runs, including one fifty. That one half-century came in his debut game. He played his first ODI against England in Leeds in 1974. He made 82 off 78 balls, including 8 fours and two sixes. But India lost that game.
2. Robin Uthappa :
Robin Uthappa made a remarkable debut for India but couldn’t carry on for long. He played 46 ODIs between 2006 and 2015 and scored 934 runs with six half-centuries. His highest score of 86 runs came in his debut game. Uthappa played his maiden ODI against England, which came in a chase. He made 86 off 96, including 12 fours and one six, and unfortunately, he got run out and missed out on a hundred. But he helped India win the game.
1. KL Rahul :
KL Rahul is probably one of the best batters in modern cricket for India. That’s how he made his ODI debut. He is the only Indian batter to score a debut ton. Rahul’s played his first ODI match against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2016 and scored an unbeaten 100 off 115 with seven fours and one six, helping India win by nine wickets.
