Virat Kohli was the first Indian batter to achieve 900+ T20I rating points in his career.

Cricket is a game of stats and records, and it’s fair to say that these are the things by which the achievement of a player is measured. An ICC ranking is a true measure of the impact, consistency, and dominance of a player.

Virat Kohli is the prime example, being the only cricketer on the planet to achieve 900+ rating points in all three formats. That is the bar he has set for the other cricketers.

And to go past Kohli in any format is itself a big achievement. Notably, there are four Indian players who have achieved 900+ rating points in the shorter format. Below, we will talk about all those four cricketers.

4. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was the first Indian player to achieve a rating of 900 or more points in the shorter format. His highest rating point is 909, and he was the first player to go past this feat.

Virat retired with the MOTM performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 final. He retired with 4188 runs in 125 T20Is with one century and 38 half-centuries and one century.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the best T20Is that India produced. He holds many records in this format and was at the top of the rankings for a long time. He breached the 900-point mark in 2023, and earned the highest of 912 rating points.

Suryakumar is still among the best T20I batters in the world. Though he is not part of the current T20I setup, but he led India to the T20 World Cup 2026 triumph a few months back.

2. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan‘s story is nothing less than a movie. After losing his place in the team and getting sacked from the central contract, he delivered some incredible performances at the domestic level, which forced the selectors to pick him, and he is currently at the top of the T20I rakings.

Not just this, his consistent performances have helped him to become the fourth Indian to breach the 900-point mark in T20Is. Ishan achieved his highest rating points of 916 in 2026 during the recent T20I series against Zimbabwe.

1. Abhishek Sharma

Known for his fearless batting approach, Abhishek Sharma has established himself as one of the best T20 openers across the globe. The left-hander made his T20I debut in 2024 and impressed everyone with a century in only his second T20I.

He didn’t stop and became the fastest batter to reach 100 T20I sixes. He stayed at the top of T20I rankings for almost a year and achieved a record rating points of 931 in 2025.
