Indian cricket team become 2nd team to play 200 T20I matches, Know who were the first

The Indian Cricket Team have won 127 T20Is out of 199 played so far and lost just 63.

The Indian cricket team have completed a milestone as they entered the field at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. India are playing their 200th T20I international game as they take on the West Indies in the first game of the five-match T20I series. India have become the second team to complete this milestone in T20 Internationals. Talking about the match, West Indies have won the toss and elected to bat against India. A Brian Lara Cricket Academy wicket produced a high-scoring innings in the final ODI of the recently concluded series. Windies captain Rovman Powell will look to capitalize on the conditions.

The second team after Pakistan to touch the 200 milestone

Indian Cricket Team have played 199 T20 matches (200th against the West Indies) and are the second-most successful team in this format. In 199 games so far, they have won 127 T20 games and lost 63. They have also played three tied games and won in the Super Over. Pakistan have played 223 T20 internationals and won 134 games. Pakistan have lost 80 T20Is. New Zealand are placed in third place in terms of playing the most T20Is. New Zealand have played 193 T20I games. India made their T20I debut against South Africa in December 2006, when they defeated the Proteas by six wickets in Johannesburg.

This five-match series is important for Indian Cricket Team keeping the next T20 World Cup in view. The West Indies and the USA will host the next WT20 event in June 2024. This five-match series will give a crucial understanding of the conditions to a new and young Indian T20I squad. So far, they have managed to win only one T20 World Cup. India won the inaugural T20 World Cup event in South Africa, defeating Pakistan in the finals. This win paved the way for the IPL and T20 formats to take over the world of cricket.

Against the West Indies, India played 26 T20Is and came out victorious in 17 games. The West Indies have won seven out of those 26 T20I games. The West Indies have gotten off to a great start against India in the first T20I game.
