Indian Cricket Team will take on Ireland in the first T20I on August 18 in Dublin.

After a mixed performance on the West Indies tour, the Indian cricket team have moved on to their next assignment to play three T20Is against Ireland. The series will start on August 18 (Friday) with the first game at The Village, Dublin. Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will make their comebacks in the Indian cricket team after recovering from injuries, and Bumrah will lead the Indian cricket team.

The upcoming Ireland series will be a great opportunity for the Indian cricket team youngsters to showcase their talent. A number of new faces are part of the Indian cricket team squad that will play their first international match. Ruturaj Gaikwad has the responsibility of vice captain of the Indian cricket team, and he will be assisting Bumrah in the series. It will be a great chance for Gaikwad, as he will be leading the Indian cricket team at the Asian Games 2023. Gaikwad will be the first-choice opener. He has played nine T20Is for India already. In the IPL 2023, he scored 590 runs at 42.14 and 147.50.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal:

Yashasvi Jaiswal recently made his international debut on the West Indies tour and caught the attention of the world. He carried his IPL form and scored runs across formats. He played three T20Is and scored 90 runs at an average of 45 and a strike rate of 157.89. In the absence of the seniors, he will have responsibility at the top.

Just like Jaiswal, another Indian debutant impressed everyone on West Indies tour. He is Hyderabad batter Tilak Varma. The left-hander was India’s highest run-scorer in the T20I series and scored runs in all five games. Varma scored 173 runs at 57.67 and a strike rate of 140.65. He is a great addition in the middle order, and many believe India need a batter like him at No. 4 or 5.

4. Shivam Dube:

Shivam Dube established himself as a hard-hitting batter in the IPL. He was part of CSK’s winning team in 2023 and played an important role. Dube scored 411 runs at an impressive strike rate of 159.92, which earned him a comeback with the Indian team. Notably, Dube has played 13 T20Is already and has five wickets and 105 runs. He will be a destructive batter at No. 4.

5. Rinku Singh:

India are in desperate need of a finisher, who can take the game away in crunch situations, and Rinku Singh showed what he is capable of in the IPL 2023. He was one of the emerging players for KKR in the team who made a name for himself with some unbelievable finishing ability. He scored 474 runs at 59.25 with a strike rate of 149.53 for KKR. Rinku will be ideal at No. 5 for India.

6. Jitesh Sharma (wk):

Another name that caught the attention of everyone lower down the order was PBKS wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma. The 27-year-old played a crucial role for his IPL team and played some brilliant cameos down the order. He scored 309 runs at a strike rate of 156.06. Jitesh will be the first-choice keeper in the team.

Spin all-rounder Washington Sundar is also making a comeback after recovering from injury. He is also part of the team and will be ideal to bat at No. 7 for India. Sundar can bowl on the powerplay overs and in the middle overs as well. He has vast experience among the squad. Sundar has played 35 T20Is and picked up 29 wickets at an economy of 7.22.

8. Ravi Bishnoi:

Ravi Bishnoi will be another specialist spinner in the team. A leg-spinner comes with a tendency to pick wickets, and he is a wicket-taker. Bishnoi has played for India in some big games. He has 16 wickets in 11 T20Is and will be hard to pick for the Irish batters with his variations.

9. Jasprit Bumrah (C):

Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the team and the bowling attack. He is India’s best modern-day bowler, but it will be interesting to see how he goes about business on his comeback after almost one year. Bumrah has shown some good signs in the practice matches, and everyone is expecting him to get the rhythm and match time because there are two big tournaments coming up for Team India.

Another exciting Indian pacer, Prasidh Krishna, is making his comeback after 6-7 months. Krishna was brilliant during his ODI stint for India, but injury forced him to stay away from the game. He also missed the IPL 2023. Krishan played 14 ODIs and took 25 wickets at 23.92. India will keep an eye on his form because he can be in the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

11. Arshdeep Singh:

Arshdeep Singh was India’s highest wicket-taker in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. He took seven wickets at an average of 22.29. He has been a wicket-taking bowler for India and a great death bowler. So far, he has picked up 48 wickets in 31 T20Is and is an experienced candidate in this Indian team. He will share the new ball in the first game for India.
