Chasing a target of 153, they reached 155/8, taking the series lead.
The third match, also at Providence, witnessed a remarkable comeback from India. Restricting West Indies to 159/5, India chased down the target with 7 wickets and 13 balls to spare, demonstrating their adaptability and resilience.
In the fourth T20I at Lauderhill, where India showcased their dominance. Restricting West Indies to 178/8, India’s batters shone as they effortlessly achieved the target, posting 179/1 to seal a comprehensive victory.
The series reached its climax in the fifth T20I where West indies clinched the title 3-2 against India. The hosts were put to bowl first, while India set a target of 166, West Indies manged to achieve the target by the 18th over.

1. Shubman Gill (6/10)
Shubman Gill’s contributions at the top were steady, but he missed out on converting some promising starts. His solid technique and intent provided stability to the opening partnership. His first three games didn’t go the way he wanted but in the fourth T20I he came back strong with a brilliant knock of 77.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal(7.5/10)
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s aggressive opening approach yielded fruitful results. He showcased his ability to take on the bowlers and provided solid platforms for the team with commendable performances. In his debut T20I series he managed to score a total of 90 runs in the three games he played. With a highest score of 85*in the fourth T20I.
3. Suryakumar Yadav (8/10):
Suryakumar Yadav’s consistent run-scoring and versatile batting approach were pivotal for India. He played crucial knocks, adapting to various situations with ease and flair, establishing himself as a vital middle-order asset. In the third T20I his crucial knock of 83 helped the team win, keeping India’s hope alive in the series. In the last T20I he brought up his 15th fifty for team India, and ended with a score of 61.
4. Ishan Kishan (4/10):
Ishan Kishan displayed flashes of brilliance but lacked consistency. His explosive style yielded some quick starts, but he missed opportunities to convert them into big scores on occasion. Playing only two games of the series, Kishan couldn’t convert the opportunities he got.
5. Sanju Samson (3/10):
Sanju Samson had moments of brilliance but struggled to find consistency. His contributions with the bat were valuable at times, although he would have hoped for more substantial scores. The right-hand batter had the perfect stage to prove his value in the batting department, but was outplayed by the opposition leaving him with minimal scores for the team. In all the five games Samson under-performed, fans were questioning his inclusion in the XI after consistent poor performances.
6. Hardik Pandya (7/10)
Hardik Pandya who is currently the stand in captain of team India, his all-round prowess was on full display as he played vital roles with both bat and ball. His batting and crucial breakthroughs with the ball were crucial to India’s success. He ended the series with total scores of 77 and four wickets in five match T20I series.
7. Tilak Varma (9/10)
Tilak Varma’s promising performances as a middle-order batsman were noteworthy. His ability to chip in in the middle-order made him a valuable asset in various game situations. Making his debut in the same series the left-hand batter showed his elegant stroke play in all the five matches. He is also being considered as the future No.4 position batter for team India for the upcoming big tournaments. With scores of 39,51,49*,7* and 27, he was India’s highest run-getter of the series.
8. Yuzvendra Chahal (7/10)
Yuzvendra Chahal’s leg-spin wizardry kept the opposition on their toes. He delivered crucial breakthroughs and controlled the middle overs effectively, contributing to India’s success. He took a total of five wickets in the series.
9. Kuldeep Yadav (8/10)
Kuldeep Yadav’s wrist spin added variety to the bowling lineup. While he had moments of brilliance, he struggled with consistency, requiring further development. After his return in the white ball set-up he has been regularly giving the team with necessary break-throughs.
10. Axar Patel (5/10) :
Axar Patel’s effective spin bowling and lower-order contributions added depth to the team on paper, But he was under-utilized. He was a part of the playing XI in all five games, but managed to bowl only 11 overs and took 2 wickets. And with the bat, he scored 40 runs in the entire series. His contributions were very minimal.
11. Arshdeep Singh (7.5/10) :
Leading the bowling department of the team, Arshdeep Singh’s left-arm pace proved to be a key asset. He consistently picked up wickets and provided breakthroughs during crucial phases of the game, making a significant impact. He picked a total of 7 wickets in the series. And also became the highest wicket-taker for team India.
12. Mukesh Kumar (6.5/10):
Mukesh Kumar’s medium-pace bowling provided balance to the attack. He chipped in with wickets and bowled economically, playing a supportive role.
13. Ravi Bishnoi (4/10) :
Playing only one game in the series, Bishnoi’s leg-spin proved to be a valuable asset. He showcased his ability to take wickets and control the flow of runs, making him a reliable option. But he went without picking any wickets.
Throughout the series, both teams displayed exceptional cricketing skills, with intense bowling spells and explosive batting performances. The matches showcased the ever-changing dynamics of T20 cricket, with momentum swinging back and forth.
