List of Indian cricketers to achieve the double of 3000+ test runs and 250+ test wickets

Only three Indian cricketers have achieved this unique double in test cricket.
Team India have struggled to get a perfect all-rounder from years after Kapil Dev. The former Indian captain was the only all-rounder who went on to play more than 100 test matches for India. While numerous fast bowling all-rounders entered the scene, none matched the enduring career longevity displayed by the 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev. There were a few names that came, but soon vanished after playing 15-20 test matches.
A double of 3000 runs and 250 wickets is a very rare achievement to get for any player. An all-rounder dreams of contributing with both, bat and ball. Test cricket has always been a pinnacle for every player and extraordinary performances in this format of the game paves the way for greatness. Indian all-rounders with 3000+ runs and 250+ wickets in test cricket:
1. Kapil Dev – 5248 runs || 434 wickets :

The Haryana Hurricane, Kapil Dev has inspired millions in India to take up the ball and go out for rigorous drills. Kapil Dev’s biggest achievement is not only restricted to the 1983 World Cup win, but also as one of the greatest all-rounders. Kapil Dev was the first Indian all-rounder to complete a double of 3000 test runs and 250 test wickets. Kapil Dev finished his test career with 5248 runs and 434 wickets. He is also the only Indian all-rounder to achieve the double of 4000 test runs and 400 test wickets.
2. Ravi Ashwin – 3271 runs || 499 wickets :

After Kapil Dev, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the next to complete a double of 3000 test runs and 250 test wickets. Ravi Ashwin has been a match-winner for India in test cricket. Ashwin has had many memorable performances with the ball for India in test cricket, he is also a useful contributor with the bat for India. So far in his career of 97 tests, Ravi Ashwin has scored 3271 runs including five centuries and has taken 499 wickets.
3. Ravindra Jadeja – 3000* runs || 280 wickets :

After Kapil Dev and Ravi Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja became third Indian all-rounder to complete the double of 3000+ runs and 250+ wickets in test cricket. On 15th February, 2024, Jadeja entered this elusive record when he completed 3000 runs. In third of the five-match test series between India and England in Rajkot, Jadeja completed 3000 test career runs at his home ground. Before coming to the match, Jadeja already had 280 wickets to his name.
