Indian cricketers who are participating in County Championship 2025

As many as five Indian cricketers have signed to play in County Championship 2025.

The English County Championship season is a much-awaited red-ball competition in the world. Just like every season, this edition also has several renowned faces from different parts of the world. There are some known Indian cricketers who are are also participating in the competition.

Over the years, every big Indian star, from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, has always been on the radar of the county clubs for signing. Though the Indian cricket schedule is always packed, it is very hard to sign the players.

But some of the Indian stars are currently part of the ongoing County Championship 2025. In this article, we will talk about the Indian players.

Indian cricketers who are participating in County Championship 2025

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad (Yorkshire)

Ruturaj Gaikwad has signed a deal with Yorkshire County Cricket Club for County Championship 2025. He will make his debut in late July and will play in the One-Day Cup as well. With a strong record in First-Class (FC) cricket, Gaikwad is expected to be a great asset to the team. He was in England for the India A games and is expected to join Yorkshire camp soon.

2. Tilak Varma (Hampshire)

Star Indian batter Tilak Varma recently made his County Championship debut. He signed to play for Hampshire and has made a historic debut. In his debut innings against Essex, he slammed 100, and it was followed by 56 and 47 in the next game against Worcestershire. He will be available to play four matches for the Hampshire Club in the County Championship 2025.

3. Ishan Kishan (Nottinghamshire)

After finishing India A games in England, Ishan Kishan joined Nottinghamshire for the ongoing County Championship 2025. He recently made his debut against Yorkshire and scored 87 runs in his debut innings. It was followed by another 77-run knock in the second game against Somerset. Ishan was signed for two games this season.

4. Yuzvendra Chahal (Northamptonshire)

Veteran Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made his return to the County Championship for Northamptonshire. He will be available till the end of the season and will also play in the One-Day Cup. This marks the third consecutive county season for Chahal in his career. The leg-spinner started the season pretty well with 4/51 against Kent.

5. Khaleel Ahmed (Essex)

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has also signed his first County Championship deal and is representing Essex until end of the season, and will also play in the One-Day Cup for the club. Khaleel had a brilliant Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and he can add more value to Essex’s bowling unit. He also played one game for India A in the unofficial test series against England Lions.
